Welcome back.

You may have noticed that my break from blogging turned into something more like an extended leave of absence.  The only reason that I can give for my absence from the blogosphere is that I simply did not feel like blogging.  A lot has happened in the past few months, so my time has been otherwise occupied.
  • Mr. A and I got married in December and went on a fantastic honeymoon.
  • We both have full-time jobs that take up a lot of our time, which means that our free hours are spent at the gym, chilling out, and trying to do everything that we can't do during the workday.
  • Fantasy football completely took over our lives.
Besides the reasons listed above (and more), I also quit loving fashion.  Don't get me wrong -- I am still a compulsive shopper with a tendency to lean toward the more expensive items.  I will always acknowledge the need to dress well.  I still crave Chanel and Christian Louboutin.  However, there are more important things in life.  Since I quit buying high-priced items, I could afford to buy a new car.  Goodbye, 2000 Pontiac Grand Am!  My shoe obsession has turned toward those of the athletic variety.  It seems like I buy a new pair of Nikes every month, and I own more athletic apparel than anything else now.

The fashion industry has also pissed me off.  It contributes to women forming negative body images about themselves.  It convinces women that they need the most expensive clothes if they want to be considered beautiful.  It makes a mockery of natural disasters (see here).  I'm sick of it, so I quit.

Pictures that I have posted on here in the past have been used by other websites, which is disgusting.  My Twitter account has been the subject of some vicious attacks, as well.

I still love blogging, but I will not return to the same level of openness that I had before.  I'm not even sure what this blog will be about anymore.

Thank you to everyone who has commented on my past posts and left words of encouragement.  You know I absolutely adore all of you.

By the way, I have absolutely no idea how to get rid of the extra crap underneath this post, so if anyone knows where to find it in the HTML, let me know.

I'm out.

  2. I am so sorry that you've been hurt by certain aspects of blogging and the fashion industry. There are certainly good and bad parts of it. Congratulations on the amazing things that are happening in your real life! That is so great. Whatever you end up doing with your blog, thanks for everything you've done in the past. I have loved getting to know you and getting inspired by your outfits. You seem like such a wonderful and genuine person and I wish you nothing but the best.

  4. Hi Bonnie, I'm so happy you're back here and you got married! I wish you all the best things that life can give!!! ^-^
The blogging world is nice but it has two faces, you know. Don't be downhearted by ugly actions and bad people!
You can always show your personal sense of fashion or everything is inspiring you at the moment, you can do amazing things if you feel good.
Btw, I don't know what kind of widget there's at the end of the post or how have you put it here but if it's like LinkWithin, you should go to Layout and you'll find it below the post area... select it and then remove it.
If it isn't like LinkWithin it's something you've added in the HTML blog model... anyway it's better to save a backup file before retouching the blog.
I hope these little infos are useful and someone can confirm them or give an extra help.
I send you a big kiss.
    See you soon
    Love

  5. Congratulations and my best wishes to you and Mr. A on your marriage once again! I'd suspected and hoped that you were having a wonderful honeymoon. I had read in your tweets on twitter of your fantasy football interests. Though I've missed your fashionista outfit posts it's nice to read that you have a new car. I agree with you about some of the stuff in the fashion industry. A recent example of it is some of the horrendous stuff that came out of Karl Lagerfeld's mouth. I hope you're ADL hasn't been as much of a bummer lately as it had been - one can always hope. Too bad about the vicious attacks on Twitter. Apparently I was targeted - and had my account temporarily suspended for "multiple unsolicited mentions" - I guess someone didn't like my tweeting FFs to them and promoting my own latest blog post (January 1st) titled: A Briefs Update Part 4 - with Customer Lingerie Review Videos (see, I did it again).

I've missed your blogging and comments but can sympathize. I don't share everything myself, and you had shared a lot!. Best wishes with whatever you decide to do or write (or not). If you do write I'll love reading it. :)

  8. Bonnie, Welcome back! My hubby and I were just talking about you today saying how much we missed your posts and, being in the health care field, I immediately was worried you were ill. But I'm soooooo glad you're doing great and you and Mr.A were married and honeymooned and are working hard and enjoying life. Congrats to you both! Whatever direction you go with your blog I'm sure it will be interesting and fun. Take care and enjoy your weekend!

  10. Congrats on your marriage! I was wondering where you went. I'm totally done with fashion blogging myself. (Come to think of it, I never really blogged about fashion even through I went around calling myself a fashion blogger. Go figure.)

  11. Congrats for getting married and your full time jobs :)!
I have always dissed the typical fashion stuff, the stereotypes : look like this, act like this, be like this or otherwise you are worthless. That's why I have always done things in my own way ;)
You don't need to obey any rules. Be yourself and in someone doesn't accept you in that way, then shame on that person. Well you knew that already :)

About the copyright offense, did you report them?

Anyway, hope to read from you again, whatever you may want to write :)

PS: about the dots under your post - do you have an XML copy of your template? Or just remove the Widget for blogger by Way2blogging from HTML - it's not difficult. You might want to find the original widget, see the HTML, search it from your HTML and just delete it.

  12. OMG! Bonnie, Bonnie, is that you?!

Welcome back. And congratulations on your big news. I hope you honeymooned somewhere fun.

Blog only when you want, about what you want. A blog must serve you, not the other way around. If you decide to blog about football or hot cars or vintage lingerie, you'll find an audience. (I'll be in it!)

  13. I hear you on that fantasy football stuff. when it was over, we didn't know what to do with our time anymore. Now we are onto Fantasy Motocross.

glad to have you back! congrats on getting married!!

  14. Congrats on your wedding!!!!!!!!!!! WOW and I hear you loud and clear on the subject of Vogue editors. I just finished watching a documentary called, Vogue, the Editors Eye. It was all about how they put together editorials like the one you linked to in this post. They do seem to be getting odder as the years go on, don't they? I do hope to see more of you in the blogsphere even though I understand you're sick of it. You'd laugh if you knew how many times I've left the fashion world. At this point I have one wish for you--that you and hubby just kick back and enjoy the game this weekend . . .

  19. Congrats on the wedding.
I hope you reconsider 'fashion' posts at some point; I think you can do a lot to counteract some of the stupidity of the "high fashion" pressure of it all. I love real-gal posts and blogs.

  21. Congratulations on your wedding - it sounds like the last few months have been busy in great ways. I also love your stance regarding the fashion industry and think you have always honoured that. I can understand why it would grate more and more with time and contribute to wanting to shift your focus away from fashion now. If you continue to blog, I'm sure I'm not the only one who will be interested by whatever topics you pick. If you don't, congratulations again and enjoy that new car and those Nike shoes ;)

  22. Well I am glad that you're back even if it is undecided :) I too, took a blog hiatus, for no rhyme or reason, just didn't feel like doing it! Congrats on the marriage love, marriage is beautiful! :) I understand your thoughts behind the fashion world, however I hope that my tuesday treasure posts aren't offending! LOL I cannot afford expensive crazy clothes, so I share the goldies I find at thrift stores! It is disgusting how they make you think that brands like ..say ...Lululemon will make you a fit queen, when you can but the same thing at F21 for a hair of the price and it does the same thing! :) I have also started a new weekly post including my yoga practice and tips, next post is about those perfections the media puts out there, when really imperfection is perfection! Hope you'll check out those, they are called my yoga ramblings :) I hope you comeback and blog about whatever ...cuz whatever it is, will be awesome..just like you!! Hope you're enjoying life love, and hope to see a post in the future :)

  25. I can see how you didn't have time to blog as it sounds like the last quarter of 2012 was pretty busy for you. Again, congrats on the wedding!

I like that you are spending more time away from the blog if that is making you happy. We all must do what makes us happy.

I'm sorry to hear about your photos being used, bad Twitter vibes and how the fashion industry is making you feel. I definitely feel that way about the industry at times, but I think that's what makes fashion bloggers so great. Fashion bloggers come in all shapes and sizes and blog about what real girls wear, and I like that.

But again, this is your blog so you can do whatever the hell you want to do with it. Either way, we'll still keep in touch through Facebook. :)

  26. Hey Bonnie, first of all, I would like to congratulate you and Mr A for the wedding. I wish you both much happiness, blessings and most of all patience. Why patience? Because even though I'm not married like you but I've my long time live in partner which sometimes I think I've to have so much patience to go through shit from him ie, stubbornness, anger, ill-temper and I think it's vice versa too =D
Through all that, it create a very strong and special bond between us and I hope the best for both of you too.
I'm sad to loose you as a blogger friend as you were the very 1st few blogger that support my blog and we had created a friendship through the blog sphere. I can understand your point of view about the fashion world and will respect your decision. I hope you'll still visit and write some times. If you decided to blog in future about something else, you know where to find me =)

  27. it so sad I wouldn't see your outfits any time soon. But I totally understand and respect your decision.
Congrats on the wedding - that's amazing! I wish you told a little more of how your honeymoon looked like.
You are missed Bonnie. It's sad to loose you and the reading a took on a very regular basis

  35. Congrats to you and Mr. A!
This blog is your space and you should do whatever makes you comfortable!

I saw the Vogue/Sandy shoot and had very mixed feelings. But I did end up referencing it because if it highlighted that people are still suffering and servicemen deserve recognition, that is a good side benefit. Of course the shoot and clothing should have been more different and thoughtful.

Anyway do what you love lady!

  37. Bonnie, I've missed you in the blogosphere, but I've never forgotten about you. I still think you are a super cool person. I'm sure you'll find something to keep blogging about here. The most important thing (to me) is that you're okay and all is well. So let me just welcome you back to the blogosphere... even if only temporarily.

I'm sorry I haven't responded to this any earlier. I looked at my blogroll yesterday and noted this blog was updated (at the time of this post) three weeks ago. So I came back to visit "Glam Kitten's Litter Box." By the way- nice to know someone likes a blog so much that they add it to a blogroll, right? ;)

  38. Congratulations on your marriage!! I'm a little late to the party (or not-party) as I've had a bit of a blogging break myself, but I really hope you do come back, in any capacity you feel comfortable with, because I love reading your blog. Often times, your humor and wit made my morning (and I'm sure others' as well) a little better, and though there are some terrible people out there, bent on twisting things for distasteful goals, you're awesome. As my 50 year old Project Management professor says, "Don't let the haters get you down!"
