10 Spring Trends -- and a rant.

I got into a fight at the gym on Sunday.
It began with an old man who stole my Smith bench from me. (Note to all: If a weight bench is stacked, don't touch it, or you will get bitch slapped.)
I told him I was using it.  He got in my face and yelled at me.
It ended with a bitch behind me getting in my face and saying something about rules in the gym.
Sorry, ho, but the only rules that are followed in the weight room are the weightlifter's code.  The code states that you DON'T TOUCH BENCHES THAT ARE STACKED WITH WEIGHTS.
I was thisclose to beating a bitch.  Stay out of my face.

The reason this bothered me so much?  The old man would not have stolen the bench if some big, strong-looking, tough guy had been on it.  The bitch wouldn't have stepped in if I was a burly bulldog of a man.  The old man butted in and the fat-ass slut bag intruded because I am a small, young-looking female in "man's territory."
Eff that.
When men start asserting their male dominance, I have a problem.  If I am a bitch for standing up for myself under male aggression, then, yes, I am a bitch.

Mmmkay.  Rant over.
Now let's look at some fashion shit, yes?

10 Spring trends that I have noticed.

1. Biker Jacket

Maison Martin Margiela Zip-Detailed Leather Jacket
Leather jackets are always in fashion.  ALWAYS.

2. Rose-Gold Jewelry

Michael Kors Rose Gold-Plated Stainless Steel Watch
Show me a girl on Earth who does't want this watch.  I dare you.

3. Patterned Shorts

Tory Burch Kevin Paisley-Print Stretch Cotton-Canvas Shorts
You almost have to wear these with wedges.  They would look weird(er) with anything else.

4. Metallic Wedges

Yves Saint Laurent Venice Leather Sculpted-Wedge Sandals
My little turds know that I am not a fan of wedges.  I don't wear them -- ever. (Okay, I own one pair, but they are bright red and totally cute.  I wear them maybe four times a summer.  Eff you.) These are really cute, though.  I probably still wouldn't wear them.  Especially not in gold.  I'm too pale for that shit.

5. Bright Colors

Alice + Olivia Josephine Stretch Cotton-Poplin Dress

Just look at the back.  You have to love it.

6. Leather and Canvas Bags

Proenza Schouler PS1 Keep All Leather and Straw Bag
Okay, so this is straw and not canvas.  It's a Proenza Schouler PS1 bag.  It doesn't matter.

7. Polka Dots and Stripes

Miu Miu Polka-Dot Cotton-Poplin Skater Skirt
Rebecca Taylor Striped Cotton-Jersey Top
I can get on board with this trend.  I don't have many polka-dotted items except for those Miu Miu heels that were popular last season. (Still love them.) I will not, however, wear horizontal stripes.  I believe that they make everyone look wider than they really are, and very few people can pull off the look of them without looking like a hippo.

8. Maxi-Length Skirts

Roberto Cavalli Floral-Print Stretch Silk-Satin Maxi Skirt
Gorgeous.  Absolutely divine.  Again, though, I will never wear a maxi skirt.  I have short legs.  I have a small body.  I'm 5'1".  Maxi skirts make me look even shorter than my usual vertically challenged self.

9. Fringe

Meli Melo Tallulah Fringed Nubuck Shoulder Bag
Diane Von Furstenberg Fringed Silk-Chiffon Dress
Rosantica Frange Fringed Chain-Link Brass Necklace
All I can say is that I am loving the fringe trend.  Do I own anything fringed?  No.  Do I want things that are fringed?  HELL YES.

10. '70s-Inspired Flared Jeans

Citizens of Humanity Angie Mid-Rise Flared Jeans
These remind me of the jeans I wore in the seventh grade.  Not sure if that is a good thing.

  1. Oh Bonnie, picking fights. tsk tsk. I kid. I probably would have made a face and then kicked him in the ball sac. Maybe.

I love your picks, especially the PS purse and the yellow dress.

  3. I want that skirt. No thats not true. I NEED that skirt. I love polka dots. I had on a polka dot shirt yesterday, and the woman at the security said "Oh my! Are polka dots coming back?" (She was pretty old, and probably wore them the first time they were ever popular.) I said "If they're not already, I'm bringing them back!"

  4. OMG! This is awesome! I love your rants but I am sorry that happened to you. You are right about the gym CODE - stacked means "in use" back the F off! Good for you for sticking up for yourself. I LOVE that rose gold watch. I looked for a girl that didn't - all I have are tumbleweeds and whistling silence!! :)

  6. Loving these spring trends! Especially the bright colors. I wore similar jeans in seventh grade as well! They were my mom's old bell bottoms from high school. :P

That gym incident pisses me off. It is common sense when you see weights on a bench to assume it is taken or at least ASK if someone is using it. Umm...

Rude people anger me to the point where I want to get physical too. Last week I was standing in line at the bank and this man in back of me strode in front of me and took the open teller when it was MY turn. I tried to stop him and he LAUGHED at me. I turned to the teller b/c she KNEW I had been next in line, but she got kind of timid and just shrugged, like "figure it out yourselves, I'm staying out of this one." It was beyond insulting. :(

  12. I can't believe you don't like wedges.... i live in them in the summer!! And I'm not so sure about the 70's flair (definitely middle school/high school for me too) but maybe a nice break from skinny jeans is a good thing.

  19. Hi Bonnie! OMG, I'm so sorry to hear about the Gym accident. That's terrible that they would do that! I tend to ignore rude people because I hate confrontations and I don't like to cause a scene. Which means, I've had endured a ton of stupidity in public places by all sorts of pretentious people who think they're entitled to do whatever they want.

I love the trends you posted! Definitely all on my wishlist, except yellow, I don't think it looks flattering on me for some reason.

Thank you so much for your sweet comment! I feel pretty weird sometimes knowing that I don't have close girlfriends to talk to but then I fee like I won't have enough time for myself to do things I want like blogging, school etc. I'm glad to hear that you and I have a lot in common! xxoxoo

  20. Love your pick of the trends. I am trying polka dots this year for a change.

  25. Good for you for standing up for yourself. And yes, of course, your opponents jumped on you 'cause you're a girl. Men have privilege and get deferred to all the time. It ain't right, sister, it just ain't right...

  28. a. I like your sass. Seriously.

    b. I hate when people treat you differently because you are supposedly a pushover. Kudos to you for standing up for yourself, but it's stupid that you even had to at all.

    c. I will never buy into the maxi-length skirt, wedges, or rose-gold jewelery, but I'm already way in the rest of those trends.

  36. I have short legs as well and I'm totally with you on maxi skirts making us look shorter...
but I think going monochromatic with it and of course adding heels would sort of help in the height department :)

  40. Cool..Cool, my friend ;)
I learnt that when facing a person you despise, make sure you are a better person than them. Belittle them in a way which makes them totally uncivilized and rude.
The trick is how to prove to them that you are a better human being than them.
Hurt them mentally and emotionally than physically.
It takes a longer time for them to heal.
